
Each business is equipped with the schoolsPlus+™ toolkit, a complete set of software, processes, equipment, and staff, and we work with the school and you to install this. This requires a lot of your time, and possibly some investment from you – for instance to equip yourself with a lap top. Once the toolkit is in place, and once you and all stakeholders are ready, you take over full management of the business. Our managers will typically manage two or three sites, often at different levels of maturity.
As a schoolsPlus Lettings Manager you are responsible for the financial integrity of the operation. You bank the revenues in a dedicated account, and use these to pay for staff, the rent to the school, a percentage to Schools Plus, and all ancillary costs. The surplus you can then allocate as you wish – including paying yourself! Typically in the first year you will only choose to pay yourself a limited income, perhaps between £4,000 and £8,000 for each site. From year two onwards, the rewards increase, with our successful managers earning over £35,000 per year.
Working arrangements are very flexible, and almost entirely at your discretion. You can expect to work about 20 hours/site week, including some weekend and evening work. If you run 2 or 3 sites, then this is a full time job.
